The Life and Works of Gustaf Nordenskiold by Olof W Arrhenius. Edited and annotated by Robert H and Florence C Lister. Design and illustrations by Suzanne Barnhart. Long fascinated by accounts in his wife's possession of the youthful experiences of her father, Gustaf Nordenskiold the author visited Mesa Verde in 1960 for the first time. Seeing at first hand the impressive antiquities that Nordenskiold's physical and intellectual efforts had been instrumental in both publicizing and ultimately protecting, the author, upon returning home to Sweden, set about compiling in English this biography along with translating many of the relevant field records and diaries that originally had been written in Swedish. These materials, together with photographs and correspondence are found in this book. Description text copyright 2008 BooksForComfort. Item ID 17007.
